We provide a range of medical, educational, residential and assessment services for people with complex epilepsy and other neurological conditions including challenging behaviour. Some of our residents are non verbal, although they do use other forms of communication including PECS (picture Exchange Card System) and Makaton. Residents live in small houses around the Warford site and in the local community which as far as possible mirror a normal domestic living environment. It is their home. The residents bedrooms provide them with space to have privacy and time alone and accordingly we always knock before entering their rooms. All of the bedrooms are personalised according to the likes and dislikes of the individual.

Bank Care Staff participate in many aspects of food preparation, from planning and shopping right through to cooking. To promote independence we include individuals to take part in the food preparation process so that we can teach individuals valuable skills that will stay with them for life. In addition to this service we also offer a central catering kitchen service to support the dietary requirements of higher dependant people.

Bank Care Staff support individuals in a variety of ways that compliment the individual's package of care. These may include supporting somebody in their personal care or ensuring that appointments are kept. Once you have received your induction training you may support somebody on a one to one basis or you may find yourself working on a house with a small group of individuals. Within this structure we have "Key Workers". These vital roles support individuals to be empowered in many different ways of daily living.

In all that we do we aim to respect each person's individual choice, dignity, privacy and rights and show that we are sensitive to their needs. A Bank Care staff worker is expected to encourage individuals to use and improve their skills so that they can achieve as much independence as they can in their daily living. For example, some of the residents are on self medication and have independent travel programmes. We offer a wide range of activities of which regular access to the community is important to promote social awareness and integration. There are trips bowling, swimming and to the park, we also use other services and facilities within the community from Education to Health Care etc.

A member of the Bank Care Staff works with the individual or when necessary, with parents and guardians and consults with them on how to meet their religious and cultural needs. This may include a desire to attend a place of worship or to ensure that dietary requirements are fully met. Where appropriate, Bank staff encourage individuals to recognise and acknowledge any cultural differences within the group.

All our houses have dedicated, hard working care officers. Joining them as a Bank Care Staff worker means that you become a member of a highly motivated and professional multi-disciplinary team.
